What is Cellulite?
To understand why DermaWave Aquaphoresis is so successful, let’s define the current theory of cellulite formation. First of all, don’t feel alone. Approximately 80-90% of all women have some degree of cellulite. Sadly, diet and exercise alone rarely clear the condition. Cellulite can be loosely defined as the dimpled or bumpy contour that the skin assumes because of irregular distribution of fat beneath the skin surface.
Buy Why?
Fat globules are divided by cords that run from the lower part of the skin through the fat layer and mesh into the upper layer of the muscle. It is believed over time that the cords (blood vessels and collagen) shorten and compromise blood flow.
The enlargement of fat globules between the cords contributes to reducing inflow of the blood and outflow of lymph. This accumulation of fluid puts further pressure on the tissue and creates a vicious cycle of injury. In summary, cellulite is a result of reduced microcirculation of blood flow, increased tissue acidity, compromised lymphatic drainage and weakened support structure of the dermis and epidermis.

DermaWave No-Needle Mesotherapy™ (NNM™) is the modern alternative to traditional injection mesotherapy. NNM™ uses a dual wavelength laser coupled with specifically designed sequences of pulsed electrical waveforms to relieve congested tissue areas characterized as cellulite. The treatment is based on a new technique called Aquaphoresis and Threshold Electroporation. The goal of treatment is to reactivate specific physiological processes in tissue that contribute to the formation of cellulite.

The Aquaphoresis process for the treatment of cellulite is based on four synergistic repair strategies:

   • Laser stimulation to enhance cell permeability
   • Delivery of active substances
   • Muscle toning and stimulation
   • Enhanced lymphatic drainage

These four synergistic repair strategies are accomplished during your treatment in a painless and relaxing environment. Most patients describe the procedure as their “anti-cellulite massage.”

Each treatment session lasts about 30 minutes, and patients need to complete a series of 8-10 to achieve a final result. Typical benefits are seen after 4-6 visits, although results obviously will depend on the severity of the cellulite or wrinkle condition. The treatment itself is very patient-friendly with no pain or discomfort. Patients may return to normal activity immediately after treatment with no downtime. In the first phase of the treatment series, patients should schedule four visits over the first 14 days to kick start the repair process.
